2026 Costume Loft Annual Sale Announcement!

FAQ
Throughout the year the Costume Loft is always open to receive donations from our ever generous community. We strive to incorporate as many of these items into the loft’s inventory but our small space can only hold so much. So to ensure that the donations still benefit the loft, we host a yearly sale of overstock and unneeded items.
What kind of clothing can you expect see at the Annual Sale?
It’s a mixture of modern and vintage pieces. The loft only tends to keep items from pre-1990s. Anything deemed too modern automatically goes into the sale. The vintage items will usually consistent of pieces that have recently been replaced or are too worn out. Furthermore, any pieces that we have an over abundance of is pared down through the year. This can be anything from suits, shoes, coats, academic robes or prom dresses. Expect to see a little of everything at the sale.
Besides clothing what else will there be?
Occasionally, the props department will sell off their excess stage props and furniture to make space for future productions. .
Will this year have a special section of items?
In 2025 the loft hosted a successful Bridal Bouquet to move on a number of overstocked wedding dresses. Any dresses that were unpurchased from last year will make another debut looking for a new home. All dresses will have the basic measurements on them (bust, waist, hips) and there will be volunteers on site that can help will further measurements if needed.
This year the loft is culling a number of winter coats both for men and women. Theatre productions don’t usually use heavy winter coats and its not an item the loft typically rents out. There will be vintage and modern heavy coats ready to keep you cozy this winter.
Will there be furs this year?
Like wedding dresses, the loft takes in a number of furs every year and we can’t keep them all. There will be furs for sale in a variety of conditions. Some will be in great condition looking for a new home. While others are in need of repair or are only suitable as pieces for a future project. Please keep in mind that yes these fur are real, but they are all vintage pieces and were created a long time ago.
So how much can I buy?
The loft really doesn’t want to limit how much someone purchases but we do want to give everyone a fair chance at some great deals. There will be a limit of 2 per person on wedding dresses, furs, and winter coats. Please keep all other purchases to a reasonable amount.
What type of payment method will you take?
We can accept cash and credit card payments. For credit card payments the sale will be using the same payment system the loft and box office uses for their transitions. Since our square system doesn’t print receipts; one can be provided by hand or by emailed. For an electronic receipt you will need to provide us an email address and it will be sent out when the cashier has a free moment.
We’d like to thank everyone that has provided support to The Costume Loft through the year. We hope to see you all at the Annual Sale. And remember to bring your own shopping bags!
