Victoria Festival of Authors

Langham Court Theatre is honored to both welcome and to sponsor the Victoria Festival of Authors, the first time Langham has hosted this wonderful event.

With a focus on regional authors, the festival brings together thirty-five emerging and established writers of poetry and prose for five days of readings and conversation, both live and virtual.  Rather than programming around a theme, VFA has invited guest curators to program the majority of the events.  As a result, the offerings are incredibly varied, reflecting the diversity of voices that have curated the events. 

Some of the many prominent authors appearing at Langham Court Theatre this year include Lorna Crozier, Angela Sterritt, Ian and Will Ferguson, Tim Lilburn, Alissa York and Helen Knott…as well as Langham board member, Katlia Lafferty, a finalist for the 2023 City of Victoria Butler Book Prize.

The festival this year is introducing sliding scale pricing, with a free option for all virtual events and for the five in-person events taking place at Langham Court Theatre.
